OrthoView is a revolutionary digital orthophoto generation softwarepackage that provides distortion-corrected photo-images in a form usableby any image processing system, GIS, or digital mapping system thatsupports raster data structures. Digital orthophotos combine theinformation density of a photograph, the geometric trueness of a map, andthe convenience and flexibility of a digital file for direct use as aninformation and/or base image-map layer in a wide variety ofapplications.OrthoView combines the latest developments in 3-D surface modeling,highly accurate algorithms for differential distortion removal, overallsystem efficiency within a graphical user interface (GUI), and a fullyintegrated suite of data processing functions. OrthoView requires scannedaerial photography or digital imagery (panchromatic or multispectral), adigital terrain model of the desired area, and camera/sensor controldata. Geo-coded output images and mosaics are generated based on user-defined parameters, and may conform to any map projection/coordinatesystem.
